Feeling stuck or confused...trying being still!

At times we've all felt stuck, confused or unsure of what to do in a particular situation.  You're at a crossroads and need to make a decision, but you're paralyzed and just can't quite take the leap to make a final decision.  You don’t know who to trust or what is the ‘right’ move.  You're looking for signs and trying to understand what they mean to help aid you in moving forward.  All of these actions have one thing in common - we've taken our eye off of our faith and allowed negative emotions to enter our heads and our hearts.

In moments of confusion, I challenge you to reflect on this concept:  "Be still and know that I am God", Psalm 46:10.  In John Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible, he captures an amazing interpretation of this verse that really resonated with me.  ""Be Still", not that they should be like sticks...unconcerned at the commotions...and be wholly silent..., but that they should not be fearful, nor fretful and impatient, or restless and tumultuous; but be quiet and easy, resigned to the will of God, and live in an assured expectation...".  After reading this, I felt an instant rush of calm wash over me.

When we live in worry, which is ultimately a fear-based emotion, we are not acting as obedient believers, our faith is shaken.  Our God/Spirit/Universe is mighty and has greater plans for us.  It's important to know that YOU CANNOT MAKE A WRONG DECISION!  Yes, that's a bold statement, but if you let it sink in, it's also quite relieving.  What I mean is that every decision simply yields a different path, a different life experience; better consequences or worse consequences, but you learn through each of them.  Your decisions should be thought out and prayed or meditated upon, of course, but at the end of the day, every experience is a lesson, evolving your soul to become more and more God-like.  The more you learn, the more you grow and the closer you are to achieving your goal of existing upon this planet (also known as spiritual boot camp); which is to strengthen and evolve your soul.

So back to the original inspiration for today's message, "Be still and know that I am God".  When you're stuck and don't know what to do next, just be still...for as long as you can, or until the answer softly washes over you.  At times, inaction is the best action to take.  Be still and know that God/Spirit/Universe has heard your moment of worry or indecision and through connecting back with your faith, knowing that everything will be ok, you create space to receive guidance.  Remain aware and open, awaiting the Divine guidance.  That guidance could be an a-ha moment of knowing the decision, or it could be that you finally receive the motivation you needed to just MOVE FORWARD in to the direction of a decision.

I hope this brings you greater peace and a deeper knowing that your steps are already counted, your path is already protected, you are safe.  When you're ready...step in to the direction of decision, knowing that you can do no wrong, you're simply...choosing a path.
